We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Roosevelt L. Jackson, Sr., a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Roosevelt was a graduate of Florida A & M University who retired from IBM specializing in computer engineering.
After settling in Brevard County from South Florida, he was able to devote more time to his golf game and working on his aircraft. He spent many volunteer hours teaching youth the game of golf. He had a passion for giving back to the underprivileged. This was evident with youth he coached in the Florida Eastern College summer golf program.
Roosevelt worshipped with Shield of Faith Ministries of Cocoa and when not in service, he loved watching Dr. Tony Evans broadcast. In his later years, he enjoyed delivering food to the elderly.
“Jack” as he was called by close family was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt E. and Ella Lee Jackson; his brother, Guido Jackson; his sister, Daisy Jackson; and his eldest son, Cedric B. Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Ferguson Jackson; son, Roosevelt L. Jackson, Jr. (Melissa); daughter-in-law, Mary Jackson; grandchildren, CJ, Ian and Noah; sister, Gwen Clark; aunt, Mrs. Annette Bonam; and many other relatives.
