Coach Perry Williams, Jr., born in Barnwell, South Carolina, on October 17, 1954, peacefully passed away at his Titusville, Florida, home on December 8, 2023. Coach Perry, as he was affectionately known, leaves behind a legacy of dedication and inspiration.
A proud graduate of Titusville High School, Coach Perry returned to his alma mater in 1995 and served as coach for Titusville High School's football team until 2018. His remarkable coaching career spanned nearly two and a half decades, during which he molded young athletes into champions on and off the field.
Beyond the gridiron, Coach Perry had a diverse range of interests, from fishing and coin collecting to basketball and bowling. An avid football fan, he instilled a passion for the game in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Coach Perry's proudest moments extended beyond his coaching accolades. He cherished being a father to Erron Fayson, Lonnie Fayson, Twanda Williams, Ralph Williams, Duane Williams, and Dereck Williams, as well as a loving husband to Diane Williams, whom he married on June 3, 1981.
In addition to his remarkable career and family, Coach Perry served his country as an MP and airborne ranger from 1973 to 1977.
Coach Perry Williams is survived by his wife, Diane Williams, his children, Erron Fayson, Lonnie Fayson, Twanda Williams, Ralph Williams, Duane Williams, and Dereck Williams, his 20 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Catherine Williams, Earline Williams, Roosevelt Williams (Sonya); Grant Howard Jr., Arthur Williams, M.L. Howard, Priscilla Howard, Essie Jr. Evans, Robert Gordon (Marie), Betty Williams, Gloria Williams. He also leaves behind a community of friends and admirers who will forever remember him as Coach Perry.
Coach Perry's legacy as a coach, father, and friend will continue to inspire us all.
