NANCY JONES

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Nancy Arnold Jones, of Titusville, FL on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the age of 85 years.  She will forever be remembered by her daughters and sons-in law, Alexandra (Sandy) and William and Kendra and Peter; her grandchildren Colin, Shayne, Aaron, and Tucker.  She is survived by and will be profoundly missed by her only brother, Ernest (Bill); her niece, Jamie; her nephews Ernest (Terry) and wife Karen, John and Laurel, and Jim and Vivian Arnold.  As well, Nancy was the beloved stepmother to Bonita, Kelvin, and Bridget; and step grandmother to Eunica, Ashley, Jorey, Briana, Megan, and Alex and by numerous great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest W. and Beulah Van Winkle Arnold, laid to rest in Springfield, MA.

Nancy was loved by many in the Titusville community where she spent the last 31 years.  She was an active Nurse Practitioner, working until age 72, most recently at Titusville Towers as well as Hospice of St. Francis.  She was also a teacher, dean, and a pioneer in her field, having been the first nursing graduate at Simmons College to live off campus as a single mother.  Her professors there are quoted as saying, “This one will change the profession.”  Nancy returned to school in the late 80s and 90s to earn her Master’s in Nursing (Simmons College) and later, her Master’s in Public Health (Harvard University).

But most of all, Nancy is best remembered for her heart – her heart for friends, her heart for those who often didn’t feel loved, and her heart for all animals, children, and those in need.  Her closest friends, Carol, Leroy, Brenda, Alicia, and so, so many more would say that it was her humor, her intelligence, and her deep loyalty that made her the very best.

Today, we mourn that Nancy is no longer with us, but forever, we celebrate that we had her with us for so many beautiful years.
